Inspired by my travels in South Korea, I wanted to share the pure joy of the Noraebang with the FFXIV community. What is a Noraebang?!? in Korean, Noraebang (노래방) means Norae (song or sing) and Bang (room) - it literally means a "room to sing"In Korea, Noraebangs are popular karaoke venues that typically have a public singing space, as well as several rentable private karaoke rooms for smaller friend groups to get together and sing like crazy without worry of judgement from strangers. Drinking cheap beer, eating greasy snacks & singing SO badly with friends are some of my favorite memories of my travels.

I hope even the smallest amount of the fun carriest over to visitors of ØHP!

비빔밥 Bibimbap
It's called bibimbap (pronounced "bee-BIM-bop")—bibim meaning "mixed" and bap meaning "rice." This beloved Korean bowl incorporates steamed white rice with assorted fresh, marinated, and sautéed vegetables along with raw or seared meat, if desired.

잡채 Japchae
a club favorite, bright, colourful Korean noodle dish made with an abundance of vegetables, juicy bits of marinated beef and a sesame-forward dressing. Made with sweet potato noodles which have a unique slippery, chewy texture, this is sort of a stir fry, sort of a noodle salad, and 100% YUM!

불고기 Bulgogi
Thinly sliced beef marinated in a sauce that is a mix of soy sauce, sugar or honey, sesame oil, garlic, onion, pureed Asian pear. Served with steamed rice.

디저트 Desserts

붕어빵 Bungeo-ppang**
fish shaped pastry with a sweet red bean filling literally translated as "Carp bread"

이숙 Baesuk
Infused with flavors from peppercorn, ginger, and honey, this poached pear is one of the most delectable and nutritious desserts you’ll ever have.

호떡 Hotteok
When you break into their crispy outer shell of this sweet pancake you’ll find a delicious filling made from cinnamon, brown sugar, and chopped walnuts.

호떡 Yakgwa
deep-fried cookie traditionally served during festive days in Korea is soaked in honey & ginger syrup, resulting in a moist texture and sweet taste

다식 Dasik
Cookies for royalty. These Korean tea cookies were served with traditional tea during the Silla and Goryeo Dynasty

Beverages

Cass Beer
Very subtle and light on the nose, with a mainly biscuity fragrance. Tastes strongly of oat with a creamy mouthfeel, this beer is heavier in both flavour and texture. While full on grain flavour, there is not much hops. This beer is for those who like wheat beers with a stronger texture.

Soju
crisp, neutral spirit, similar to vodka, but with more texture and less of the harsh sting from the alcohol

Korean Yogurt Soju Cocktail
Spirit is shaken with an Asian yogurt drink and ice. A lemon-lime soda adds more sweetness and contrasting citrus flavor. The cocktail’s creamy consistency and refreshing taste make it a warm-weather favorite.

The Seoul Mule
Though this recipe requires planning, the refreshing taste makes the process well worth the effort. Infuse ginger into soju by letting the spirit sit on top of the sliced root for one week. The robust flavors from the spirit contrast with citrusy yet subtly sweet yuzu juice.

Soju Caipirinha
This cocktail combines a Korean spirit with a popular Brazilian cocktail, creating something new yet familiar. Like a traditional Caipirinha, the drink uses lime and sugar, balancing out heat and bite from the liquor. Sujo replaces the cachaça in the classic, giving the cocktail a different character with sweet, crisp notes.

Kimchi Gibson Cocktail
Kimchi plays a quintessential role in Korean cuisine. This cocktail celebrates the ingredient, incorporating it in an unexpected way, taking inspiration from the classic Gibson cocktail. Two types of gin add botanical bitterness that melds together with the herbaceous cilantro-infused vermouth. A small amount of white kimchi juice gives this cocktail its unique flavor

Makgeolli Margarita
This cocktail contains another traditional beverage, Makgeolli, a Korean rice wine, to create a complex variation with mellow, fruity notes like banana.

Boricha Tea (non-alcoholic) -
This barley tea is a staple beverage in Korean restaurants and households. Tea enthusiasts worldwide appreciate the light, nutty flavor and roasted aroma of this caffeine-free tea made from roasted barley grains.


HOW TO KARAOKE


Utilizing Discord and online Karaoke Sofware, ØHP Karaoke has brought the Noraebang Karaoke Experience to Eorzea.

Both the Public Karaoke & Private K-boxes will have a dedicated host who is responsible for managing karaoke queues, streaming music & providing general assistance.During Public Karaoke, hosts will likely participate & sing in rotation. During Private Bookings - hosts may occasionally sing if there is nobody currently in queue for the next song to fill time with music, but do not typically sing in rotation unless invited to.Please be polite and keep your vocals minimal while other performers are taking their turnPlease do not use open mic unless it is your turn to sing - push to talk only at all other times

SOUND CONTROL

Due to limited controls in discord itself, users will likely need to adjust the vocal/stream mix of the audio on their end. You can turn the music/stream volume up/down on the bottom right hand of the stream window, and of course can turn user volume up/down by right clicking their name in the voice channel to blend to the best level on your end.

Join the appropriate Karaoke room voice channel & join host's stream to participate. To make life easier for everyone, please ensure your discord server name/nickname matches your in game name.To join the karaoke queue:review our expansive song catalogue (button below) and make your song selection

Click the "Chat" icon/button for the Karaoke voice channel you are participating in and add your song request in the following format
"REQUEST: SONG, ARTIST"
Example: REQUEST: BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, QUEEN

wait for your host to announce your turn and sing along!

We currently have 3 options for Venue Rental - but if there is something else you're looking to do just ask, we may be able to accommodate

Book Mainstage Karaoke: 2M per hour
For groups over 10 we recommend mainstage rental.
Mainstage booking includes karaoke host and bartender.

Book a Karaoke K-box: 1M per hour
Our Private K-boxes are perfect for groups of 10 or less
K-box booking includes Karaoke host and bottle service.

Mainstage (No Karaoke): 1.5M per hour
Want a cool place to host a party, but no need for Karaoke? No problem! Book our mainstage unstaffed for your event!
